It felt like it took a long time, but Beckett's nursery is finally complete. I actually really love it too. When Felicity was born we never really put a nursery together for her. She was kind of sharing with the guest room and for some reason I just never got around to it. It was nice having a special, prepared space for Beckett. Don't feel too bad for Felicity though, one of these days she will get showered with a beautiful decorated room of her own :)
I got the bedding set for Beckett from Wal-Mart. I am in love with all the colors! It made decorating his room so much fun.
As you walk into his room we have a Holy Water font next to the door. This was a Baptismal gift from Father Nathan Goebel. It is so beautiful, and we love having Holy Water available to bless our kiddos before bed.
I couldn't find a changing pad cover that I liked so I ended up just using the second crib sheet. Saved me some money, plus it looks super cute with the room! I was able to find some red curtains off of the Wal-Mart website that were pretty reasonably priced. I like to have the room really dark so that it makes it easier for Beckett to sleep!
And do you see that adorable rug that happens to match the bedding set perfectly?!? That was such a lucky find from Ikea. And it was only $20! I was so excited when I found it because I knew it would look amazing in Beckett's room!
I found a frame for $.25 at a garage sale. I painted it red and then glued buttons on it in the shape of a B. I'm sure I stumbled upon the idea on Pinterest. It was really easy and I think it turned out really cute!
My dear friend Liz, the same friend who is the super talented photographer and all around creative genius!, was so sweet and made that print for me. She made the whole thing herself, from the wording, to the font, to the colors, and I think it is a highlight of the room!! I was also super lucky because I found the frame for it at a garage sale for $3 and then I was able to paint it white. I love the way it looks a bit distressed.
And, of course we have Jesus above Beckett's crib. These are my favorite crucifix's for children and we have one for all of our kiddos.
I should have gotten a better picture of this blanket, but my sister Sarah made it for Beckett. She is such a blessing to me because she has actually made one for each of my children. And it ended up matching the room so well! Sarah also had it embroidered. I love it, and I love having it on Beckett's wall. I haven't put a backing on it yet, but I'll probably wait until he is older and we take it off the wall.
On the nightstand I have a Baptismal gift from my sister, Sarah. I love this print and the colors and it is extra meaningful to me because it is the same print and font etc. that my mom used on the invitation for my Baptism!
One last view from the door. It is so crazy how spaces can end up meaning so much. I look at this room and I am filled with joy at all the time I have spent in there with Beckett cuddling. So special! Oh, and that rocking chair is one of the most special items in my house because it was my Nana's. Her and I used to sit across from each other in those chairs (Andrea has the other one) and talk for hours. I love having it as part of the nursery.
Well, thanks for taking a peak inside :)
