So I have been out of the loop for awhile now. Not just with WIWS, but with blogging in general. My phone is partly to blame. It crapped out a few weeks ago and I have been working out some glitches since getting my new one. Honestly, though, life is just kind of taking over and I'm holding on for dear life. It has been hard to find the time to blog. I should refraise that too. If I'm being completely honest I could find the time. But, as much as I enjoy this blog, lately the thought of doing anything else besides lounging with a margarita and a favorite tv show each night just doesn't sound very appealing. I'm too burnt out from living this crazy life!!! I think my energy level is picking up again...let's hope anyway...so maybe my blogging habits will improve too!

Cole and I took the kids to Panera and asked one of our Priests, Father John, if he would like to join us. We were happy to enjoy the morning with him!
Today two things happened that I would like to share. First off, while waiting in line at Panera a sweet lady and her husband/boyfriend (not sure) were oohing and ahhing over Beckett. (who wouldn't?!? The kid is totes adorbs!) Anyway, Father John and Cole were running to grab some qdoba burritos and came and sat down next to me with the kids at Panera. Moments later the lady came up and asked which man was married to me. Obviously that gave us a chuckle since we were with my Priest! In her defense, she wasn't able to see his collar from the angle she was at. After Cole raised his hand, she proceeded to say that I was so beautiful, and fashionable, and that my hair looked great and she could tell I was someone who didn't need make up because I was naturally beautiful. And she loved seeing me with my kiddos and couldn't believe that I had three kids. And continued to flatter me and say the absolute sweetest things.
I tried to assure that she caught me on the rare day a week that I actually get dressed (ha!) but that I was still so thankful for her kind words. She even told Cole I deserved some flowers in the next month. Hint hint, honey!
I share this story to say how humbled I was by the kindness of this stranger. I can't tell you how un put together I feel on a regular basis, and to hear someone praise me and make me feel beautiful made my whole month! It is something I won't easily forget. I hope it may encourage others, as it does me, that I should take chances more often to go out of my comfort zone and take the time to praise and encourage others. Her small gesture truly meant so much to me. How often do we have an urge to encourage someone in our lives, but we let it pass because we feel too uncomfortable/awkward/etc.? So to the random, beautiful girl (seriously, she was the pretty one), thank you, thank you, thank you! :)
I also wanted to share an experience I had with a homeless man outside of Panera. I took Felicity outside because she was crying and throwing a fit (big surprise) and while I was out there a homeless man named Reggie started talking to me. He was so sweet and kind and I truly enjoyed our conversation. We talked about how silly kids are and he was trying to cheer Felicity up. When Cole, Father John, and Tave and Beckett joined us we all continued to talk for probably 20 minutes longer. I know it may not sound like much, but the experience really touched me. I plan on keeping Reggie in my prayers and hopefully I will get the opportunity to encounter him again. I hope I was able to impact his day as much as he did mine.
Have a Blessed Sunday!
