7 Quick Takes Friday

1)  I totally spaced putting this song and video on my post earlier this week about the anniversary of my moms death.  I love this song and I love this artist.

Her name is Katie Herzig and she is wonderful.  I would encourage you to listen to all of her fabulous work, but this song is definitely one of my favorites and totally makes me think of my mom.

I am probably a bit biased because we were actually family friends with the Herzig family growing up, and Katie was even my softball coach when I was in 6th grade!

It is an absolutely beautiful song and I had the priveledge of watching her perform it live in Fort Collins a few years ago.  Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

2)  I had a random, never happens, moment today where there was someone to watch the kids and I had a free hour.  I quickly called to get into any random salon that would take me.  I saw my moment to finally get my hair and eye brows done, and I took it!  Aww, to feel human again! ;)  The last time I got my hair cut was in October when Cole and I were on our babymoon.

Feels so nice and smooth!  

Can't tell you the relief to finally have my eyebrows waxed...thank goodness!

3)  Notice something different in the picture above?  I'm not wearing my glasses!  An unfortunately rare occasion these days.  Contacts have always bugged me but during my last pregnancy I just couldn't handle the headaches and dry eyes so I gave in and started wearing my glasses full time.  I am planning on getting LASIK soon, but the problem is that they want you to be done nursing for three months before the surgery.  Looks like I have a long time more to wait.... :(

4)  There has been a whole lot of wine drinking going on in my house lately.  I have a very sweet hubby who knows to pour me a glass when he gets home from work!  I randomly stumbled upon this Pink Truck deliciousness and I am loving it!  For $8 a bottle what's not to love?! Notice the empty bottle...tee hee

5)  Cole and I were cracking up when we sat down for dinner.  Everyone had a drink.  Mine just happened to be the bottle of wine ;)

6)  Laundry anyone?  So I am pretty much drowning in laundry over here all.the.time!  A family of 5 + a newborn who spits up all the time + too many clothes (clearly) = never ending supply of laundry.  I already put away half of it and the hamper is still not empty.  Oh, and after changing the sheets this morning Beckett decided to have a blowout on our bed.  Totally not his fault...but almost made me want to cry!  Isn't that the way it goes though?  Fresh sheets are just begging to be peed or pooped or spit up on, right?

7)  Beckett recently got to the distracted nursing stage, and I'm not going to lie, I don't love it!  I love the flirty smiles and the giggles and all that cuteness...but I don't love the on.off.on.off spraying milk all over the place craziness.  I feel like I have to be in a completely quiet place to really nurse him effectively.  Focus, child, FOCUS!
